How to Set-up Intubation Equipment
| If you are going to set-up intubation equipment prior to actually needing to tube a patient, you must do it in a way that indicates the stuff is still usable. Otherwise, at shift change, the nurses need to discard all the stuff you prepared. |

Tube BoxesLet’s start with tube boxes…You definitely want to get in there and |

| So rip off the white tag, but don’t throw it away. Do what you need to in the box and then close it up. |

| Now that the box is prepped, cut off the extra pieces of tie on top of the number plate. |
|
| Thread the remaining tie through the hole to the left of the number bar. If the white tag is not on the box, the nurses are required to send it down to get resterilized at the end of the shift. This pisses them off; it does not matter what you have written on a piece of white tape and placed upon the box: no white tag, no happiness. |
