Fiberoptic Intubation Equipment

The fiberoptic intubation gear is both a difficult airway device and a teaching tool. The equipment is more fragile than most of our devices.
Here is the set-up
On/Off switch is on the far left. No batteries in this baby; you gotta plug it in.
In the tray are a couple of handles, the black camera wire, and gray fiberoptic light cable.
Handle is identical to macintosh laryngoscopes.
In the handle is a metal light/camera array. It pops out by pushing down on the knurled gray tab just above and to the right of my thumb in the photo. Just push it down (towards the blade) and the array pops out.
Here is the array removed from the handle. You see those two buttons on the array? Don't push them during intubation or they will freeze your image.
Here is the side of the array. That dial is a focus adjustment.
Here is where the camera cable plugs into the base unit.
Just pull to remove.
And here is the fiberoptic cable insertion. When you pull it out, don't look in the hole or you'll go blind (well, only temporarily.)
Here is the custom designed sterilization tray. It normally is hanging on hooks on the fiberoptic intubation cart.
One or two handles can be placed next to the metal L-pieces.
Most important step is to place the array into the blue rubber holders.
Then coil the cables around the outer posts. Place on the cover, latch the two latches and ask the clerk to call for transport to take it to central supply. If the tray is missing, call central supply and ask them to send it back.

Thank You!!
